EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS, LECTURES, AND INTERACTIVE PERFORMANCE PROGRAMS:
JAZZ FOR KIDS:
The JAZZ FOR KIDS program introduces the sounds of jazz to young children, grades K-3, in live performance in the school setting. This program creates an understanding of the basic elements that separate jazz from other art forms.
The musicians introduce jazz concepts and related vocabulary, while the students are invited to listen critically, predict and participate in singing.
This program prepares the young student for further investigation and future exposure to jazz performances which focus on styles, history, composers, or performance legends. This is the SOUND of Jazz. In addition to our forty-five minute program, we also offer a more extensive jazz residency.
VOCAL JAZZ PERFORMANCE and VOCAL JAZZ HISTORY: Additional workshops and lectures are available upon request.
